The FIRST TIME Little Star eats vegetables of any kind ON HER OWN. And asks “go where” and “where” questions – even though she is only at Stage 1 verbal communication. 🎉
Wanting Little Star to say a certain word, but not expecting her to say it, has opened up so many ways to encourage language. Cutting out the expectations equals cutting out fear, frustration, disappointment or feelings of failure, which in turn enables me to put so much more in the effort.
Little Star says “chocho” when she wanted chocolate cake, and “I want” when she wanted her pasta dinner.
Sometimes a day starts out “badly” but, it turns out all those “bad” beginnings are part of a process towards a great outcome. Today, Little Star goes from crying and tantrums to verbally requesting for a book.
